( Virtual Showroom ) Since 2012 The Southern African Institute of Mining and Metallurgy (SAIMM) Mine Planning colloquiums have consistently highlighted deficiencies in mine planning skills over the years. Effective mine planning ensures that resources such as ore deposits, minerals, and energy are extracted efficiently, with the goal of maximising productivity and minimising waste. A well designed mine plan aids in safety and risk management, cost efficiency and sustainable environmental practices. 

This year the Mine Planning and Design Colloquium will take place from  5-6 September  2024 at the Electra Mining Africa Expo at The Johannesburg Expo Centre in Nasrec, Johannesburg. This colloquium aims to address current skills gaps and share insights into industry best practice on the implementation of mine planning tools in the context of several mining methods.

We urge experts in the Mining and Metallurgical sectors to submit titles and abstracts of their presentations to SAIMM Head of Conferences and Events. Mine Planning and Design Colloquium delegates will also enjoy complimentary access to the Electra Mining Expo Centre on the colloquium days.
