As part of its efforts to promote globalization and to enhance the sales and service structure in southern African markets, Shimadzu Corporation's wholly owned subsidiary in the United Arab Emirates, Shimadzu Middle East & Africa FZE (SMEA), has established a wholly owned sales subsidiary in Johannesburg, South Africa. Shimadzu South Africa (Pty) Limited (SSA) was established on October 1 2011 in the Republic of South Africa (RSA). SSA offers direct sales, service and support to Shimadzu customers in the southern African region for all of their analytical and measuring instruments including instruments for chromatography, mass-spectrometry, spectroscopy, elemental analysis, surface analysis, materials testing, life science research, weight measurement, thermal analysis, particle size analysis, and TOC analysis.
