Creamer Media was founded by Martin Creamer in 1981. On 13 March 1981, the first edition of Engineering News was published. Today, Creamer Media’s stable has grown to include Mining Weekly, Engineering News Online, MiningWeekly.com, Polity.org.za and online business databases the Research Channel Africa and MiningWeekly.com Research. News is generated from the main newsroom in Johannesburg with bureaus in Toronto and Perth as well as contributors in a number of African countries as well as India.

Mission

Creamer Media’s mission is to provide accurate and timely information about economic developments, including in-depth reporting on industrial and mining project developments and on the policies and personalities shaping the real economy.

 

Creamer Media’s reportage is mainly based on South African developments, but the news team includes regular correspondents from other parts of Africa such as Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Kenya and the rest of the world, including the United Kingdom, Australia and India.

 

Both the news magazine and online formats provide a unique forum where readers can find news and comment critical to business success in an increasingly competitive knowledge based global economy.

 

After nearly 40 years of business-to-business publishing Engineering News, Mining Weekly and Polity have earned wide respect for consistently providing South African businesses with information which opens doors to new business opportunities, allows companies to showcase their products, services and branding, and keep all private and public sector participants in the economy at the cutting edge of the constant evolution of the South African and global business environment.

 

The online editions of Engineering News Online and MiningWeekly.com enable local and international businesses to communicate their products and services to a growing online audience. The websites create a platform for international news flow as well as for multimedia features that include audio clips, video clips and weekly TV-like magazine shows, that include the Real Economy Report, Resources Watch and Second Take.

 

Creamer Media also publishes Polity under the slogan of ‘Deepening democracy through access to information.’ Polity, provides free access to South African news and legislation as well as official speeches and important policy documents. High-level video interviews with authors and South African opinion makers and analysts are also published.

 

The online research tool, Research Channel Africa, provides intelligence on industry and mining in South Africa. Subscribers to the Research Channel Africa are able to conduct instant searches through the full Creamer Media news archive as well as access detailed current reports on industrial and mining projects and sectors.

 

Creamer Media is a member of the Audit Bureau of Circulations of South Africa (ABC), the Interactive Advertising Bureau South Africa (IAB) and the websites are monitored by Effective Measure, Google Analytics and Everlytic.
